26/07/2010 - Minor stop/route changes
There are some minor changes to stops for some of our services.
St Aidan Road, Bridlington
Since July 2008 Service 510 has not been able to use St Aidan Road in Bridlington due to dangerous road conditions. The road has now been repaired, so from Sunday 5 September Service 510 will go back to its original route, using St Aidan Road. Bus times will be unaffected.
Dunnington
A new stop will soon be installed at Dunnington on the A1079 just before the Windmill public house. This will allow closer access to bus services for residents of nearby houses. Existing nearby stops will also continue to be served. The stop can be used for boarding or alighting.
Service 4 - Holbeck Hill
From Monday 26 July there will be a minor route change to Scarborough Service 4. Due to larger buses being allocated to this popular route, the left turn from Holbeck Road onto Holbeck Hill is no longer possible. Instead buses will continue along Esplanade to Holbeck Hill. On Holbeck Hill one stop in either direction will no longer be used. Passengers wishing to board the bus in this area should use the junction of Esplanade and Holbeck Road - this is a 'hail and ride' area, so the bus will stop anywhere it is safe.
Service 1 passengers: please note that this bus will still serve Holbeck Road at the Holbeck Hill junction.
Service X55 - Gilberdyke
From Monday 26 July Service X55 will use the Scalby Lane stop in Gilberdyke as its main timing point. Thims means that the bus will wait time at Scalby Lane rather than at Clementhorpe Road. This change is because waiting buses were causing disruption to traffic, as well as taking up parking for the shops. X55 passengers can still board the bus at Clementhorpe Road.
Osgodby Top
From 9 July the bus stop at Osgodby Top (towards Eastfield) will be permanently out of use.
This is due to safety reasons - the current stop is too steep for boarding and alighting the bus safely.
There will be a replacement stop opposite the bus stop lay-by on Old Filey Road.
