As part of its Sustainable Travel Plan, the University of York has formed a partnership with EYMS to offer staff and students significant discounts on their bus travel.
People who work or study at the University of York can now apply for the EYMS 20% Discount Card. This is a free 'stored value' card which works like a mobile phone top-up card.
You simply add money to your card to pay for your bus fares, then when you get on the bus your fare is deducted automatically – minus the 20% discount! When your stored balance is getting low, simply top up the card by paying the driver. The balance of your card is printed onto the ticket, so you can keep track of how much money you have available.
Cardholders save money on every single and return ticket they buy on a local EYMS bus service. Whether you use the bus often, or just now and then, it can save you money.
Please note: you will only receive the 20% discount when a single or return fare is paid by using the funds on the card. You cannot use the card as a flash pass for a discount.
The University of York 20% Discount Cards are only available to University of York staff and students. If you have any doubts about your eligibility please contact the University of York, Travel Plan Co-ordinator on 01904 432046 or e-mail fch1@york.ac.uk. All applications must be completed online with a passport style photograph attached.
Instructions: Choose the 'buy' option with the required option of credit. When asked for a delivery option, please select 'Collect from Hull Travel Centre'. You will not have to collect the card from Hull – it will be sent to York and you will be contacted when it is ready to collect. When you have completed payment details you will be given a transaction reference number. Please make a note of this. Then fill in the online application form at the bottom of this page
The Travel Plan Co-ordinator will contact you when your card is ready for collection.
