Now available to York St John Students
As part of its Sustainable Travel Plan, the University of York has formed a partnership with EYMS to offer staff and students significant discounts on their bus travel.
People who work or study at the University of York can now apply for the EYMS 20% Discount Card. This is a free 'stored value' card which works like a mobile phone top-up card.
You simply add money to your card to pay for your bus fares, then when you get on the bus your fare is deducted automatically – minus the 20% discount! When your stored balance is getting low, simply top up the card by paying the driver. The balance of your card is printed onto the ticket, so you can keep track of how much money you have available.
Cardholders save money on every single and return ticket they buy on a local EYMS bus service. Whether you use the bus often, or just now and then, it can save you money.
Please note: you will only receive the 20% discount when a single or return fare is paid by using the funds on the card. You cannot use the card as a flash pass for a discount.
The University of York 20% Discount Cards are only available to University of York staff and students. If you have any doubts about your eligibility please contact the University of York, Travel Plan Co-ordinator on 01904 432046 or e-mail fch1@york.ac.uk.
You can pick up your card from the Travel Centre Co-Ordinator at the University of York, who will contact you when the card is ready for collection.
Now available to York St John Students
Our York University cards are now also available for York St John students. Apply online now, just remember to put your delivery option as ‘Collection from York St John’. When you’ve applied, please allow at least 3 weeks for processing and then collect your card from the Reception in the Student Union building. Take along your student ID so staff can check you are a York St John Student
All applications for the York University Discount Card must be made online. The application needs you to upload a digital passport style photograph. Please do not proceed with your application until you have this ready
