Not the norm
Mr PD of Anlaby writes to commend one of our Hull drivers:
"Poor quality and a lack of respect has become the norm in this country and, like the majority of the population, I rarely write letters of complaint, choosing to grumble to friends and family about the bad service received. Contrary to this, I have today witnessed what I consider to be exceptional customer service by the driver of [the 151 bus], prompting me to let you know of my experience.
Many of the passengers on the route were elderly or infirm. As a frequent user of public transport I have always found your employees to be pleasant and well mannered, but this particular driver should be complimented, not only for his courtesy but for his patience and consideration. Although some of my fellow travellers were a little slow and he obviously had a tight schedule to keep to, at no time did he rush them along, waiting on every occasion until they had firmly sat down before pulling out into traffic.
I feel certain that all your staff are instructed to the same high standards, but this gentleman should be held up as an example of how this training is implemented and seen by your customers and the wider general public.
He is a credit to your organisation."
