Do children have to pay bus fares?

Children under five years old travel for free, as long as they’re not occupying a seat required by another passenger. Children aged five to fifteen pay child fare, which is usually about half the normal adult fare. Children can use one of our 10% Discount Cards to get a further saving on their single and return fares.

We do not have Child Weekly Tickets, but children are welcome to buy our standard weekly tickets if this is cheaper than buying individual child return fares each day.

Young people aged 16-18 can get our Go Card, which gives 20% off our single and return fares.

Young people 19 and over can get a 10% Discount Card, which gives you 10% off all single and return fares.

Take a look at our Student Pages for some special offers available for students at universities and colleges around the region.
