Why should I get the EYMS Buses app?
  • The app gives you an exclusive range of tickets, including some that are only available on the app, and some that are cheaper than buying tickets on the bus.
  • You can buy your tickets using a credit or debit card, so you don't need to worry about having the right change.
  • The app makes it easy to plan journeys, so you don't have to carry around paper timetable leaflets.
How do I get the EYMS Buses app?

Download it now for free from Google Play or the App Store - search for 'EYMS Buses'.

How do I buy a ticket?

After downloading the app, tap the menu button in the top left hand corner and select 'Mobile Tickets'. Choose a zone (e.g. Hull Plus), then a time period (e.g. Week). Add a credit/debit card to pay with (or select one and put in a password, if you already have a credit/debit card attached to the account). A 'success' screen will come up, saying the payment has gone through. You can then activate the ticket straight away (if you're about to get on a bus), or you can leave it pending and then come back to activate it when you go to board a bus.

How do I use my ticket on the bus?

When you board the bus, make sure your ticket is activated, and display it on your phone's screen. Then, as with a paper ticket, the driver will check it to make sure it's valid in that area, and then will invite you to take a seat.

Can I have more than one ticket on the app at the same time?

Yes, you can buy as many tickets as you want, and either have them active at the same time (if they're different zones), or activate them one-by-one if needed.

Which tickets are available on the app?

We have only rolled out a small amount of tickets to start with, until people get used to using the app.  We will be making more tickets available, but we didn't want to launch with too many to avoid people buying the wrong tickets by mistake.  We've recently launched new tickets on the app, and keep an eye out for more ticket zones being added in future.

I've forgotten the password for my account, what do I do?

You can reset your password by going to the log-in screen of the app and tapping 'forgotten password'. Enter your email address, and tap 'reset password'. You'll get an email telling you how to reset your password. Alternatively, if you're already signed into the app, tap the menu button, choose 'Settings', then 'Reset Password', and you'll get an email telling you how to reset your password.

I've lost my mobile phone, or got a new one, how do I get my tickets?

If you've lost your mobile phone, or got a new phone, simply log in to your account on your new device. This will log you out of your account on your old device, so no one else can use your tickets.

Can more than one person use a ticket?

To prevent fraud, the ticket can only be shown on one device. If you try to open your account on a second device, i.e. another mobile phone, you will be logged out of all other devices. Continue logging in and out, and your account may be blocked for a set amount of time.

What if I need to show a mobile ticket but my phone is dead?

If you have a mobile ticket, it is your responsibility to keep your phone charged enough to display it. If you get on a bus and can't show your mobile ticket, you'll have to buy a standard paper ticket for your journey.

My payment won't work - why?

Please make sure you put in the correct payment details when you add a credit or debit card to the app, and that you have sufficient funds in your bank to cover the payment. Your address and postcode must match the details that your bank has for you, otherwise they will decline your payment. Please note that if a payment is declined, some banks will show the payment as pending on your statement for a few days before it disappears - this is at the discretion of your bank, and is not something we can control.

What if I see some incorrect information on the app?

Feedback from app users is invaluable to us to help keep improving the app. If you spot some data that's wrong, or if something isn't working on the app, please use the 'Give Feedback' button in the menu bar to let us know so we can fix it.
