Scarborough Bus Map

Published on

Bus passengers in Scarborough can now view detailed and comprehensive route information at a glance thanks to a new map developed by Scarborough Borough Council, with help from local bus operators.

The detailed map, which is being installed at key locations across the town centre, shows passengers all route information to and from Scarborough, as well as the stops the buses arrive and depart from.

The map took nine months to develop, and is available to view and download here, and is also available in today's (Thursday 17 November) edition of the Scarborough Evening News.

Scarborough Borough Council's Sustainability Officer, Dr James Bridges, who helped kick-start the project and co-ordinate the team effort, said: "I am really pleased this bus map has finally been developed because we've known for some time this is something local communities have wanted."

"The map will be useful for local communities and tourists wanting to know information such as the routes to different parts of Scarborough town and further afield in the borough; the locations and routes of Park & Ride services; and bus routes for travelling to and from work or while at work, all of which will help promote more sustainable modes of transport."

The bus map will be installed at several places around Scarborough Town Centre, including the area outside the train station, both ends of Westborough and St Thomas Street.

Work on a similar map for Filey is hoped to start later in the year.
